Although quite a few biographical studies are available on Abdul Ghaffar Khan, popularly known as Baacha Khan, they are primarily centred on his personality and the various stages of his relations with the Indian National Congress (INC). In this paper, an attempt has been made to study and analyse objectively, the life, times and struggle of Baacha Khan for its own sake independently, emphasising particularly his role in the freedom movement, the revival of Pashtoon nationalism and the adoption of non-violence in the Pashtoon society.
