BATTAGRAM: A grand jirga representing all major political parties on Friday decided social boycott of those locals who had played host to the leaders of movement for Hazara province. The jirga asked the government to establish a separate Abaseen division comprising Shangla, Battagram and Kohistan districts and Kala Dhaka area of Mansehra.
The jirga called at a local hotel was attended by a large number of people including workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, Awami National Party and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf.

Speaking on the occasion, Akhtar Javed, Muhammad Nasim Khan Dawar, Javed Khan Thakot, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Shad Muhammad Khan, Gulfam Sabir, Bakhtiar Anjum, Pir Nadir Shah, Gul Bahadar, Nawabzada Aftab, Faqir Muhammad and Javed Olasyar pledged to continue struggle for the establishment of Abaseen division.

The speakers resolved to launch a peaceful and effective campaign for the formation of Abaseen division.

Earlier, a committee was formed to mobilise the people of the area through a door-

to-door campaign for the attainment of separate ad-ministrative division for the region.
